Fujitsu AH530 laptop review

Price, features and specifications of the dual-core Pentium Fujitsu AH530 laptop

Fujitsu AH530 is 15.6-inch laptop with dual-core Intel Pentium P6200 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive.

Today we are going to take a closer look at this great home-user laptop because it has become quite popular recently and is on sale in some big tech stores. We have tested the AH530 several times so far and we totally liked it.
Fujitsu AH530 has a nice 15.6-inch LED glossy display with an HD resolution of 1366 x768. The screen is bright and with the LED backlit technology you it is consuming low amount of power, therefore you got more battery life when not plugged-in. The graphics controller powering this good monitor is an Intel HD Graphics which is good enough for watching high-quality HD videos and playing some games.
The processor used in Fujitsu Lifebook AH530 is Intel Pentium P6200 rated at 2.13 GHz. It is a very good processor that performs very well when multitasking (it is a dual-core processor after all). The chipset is Mobile Intel HM55 Express.
The AH530 also has 4GB of DDR3 (1066 MHz) RAM which is expandable up to 8GB (an overall of two slots are available). This size of memory is perfect for a laptop and we don't recommend you to upgrade it as it is going to drain your battery pretty quick. But in case you want to launch rockets and stuff like that with this laptop than you may consider upgrading (just kidding).
Fujitsu AH530 has a 500GB hard drive which is a decent storage for all your multimedia and docs.
Connectivity options on the AH530 laptop are more than generous. You have built-in WiFi (with N support) connection and Bluetooth 2.1. Three Hi-Speed USB 2.0 ports,4 in 1 card reader, one VGA and one HDMI port are also available. Those who need an Express card slot (34/54mm) and an Ethernet connection will not be disappointed as well.
The optical drive of the AH530 laptop is a DVD Super-Multi.
When talking about multimedia features in Fujitsu AH530 laptop we should definitely mention the integrated 1.3MP camera and the good quality stereo speakers (high definition audio). A headphone jack and a microphone are also available in the AH530.
Fujitsu Lifebook AH530 comes with a standard 6-cell 4400mAh battery which will hold charge for about 2-hours of active work.

As for the software most AH530 laptops come preinstalled with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium operating system which will be good enough for most users.
The dimensions of the Fujitsu Lifebook AH530 are pretty standard for a 15.6-laptop. It measures 378mm in width, 252 mm in depth, 35.7 mm height and it weighs around 2.5 kg.
The price of the Fujitsu AH530 is definitely one of the good things about this laptop. It can be found for less than £300 which considering all the good stuff this laptop has is a real bargain.
So if you need cheap reliable and pretty well equipped 15.6-inch screen laptop than you may consider buying the wonderful Fujitsu Lifebook AH530.

We've purchased two of these laptops for customers recently. Whilst generally they're up to Fujitsu's high standards, it's sad to say that the sound output from the speakers is laughably inadequate. It's impossible to listen to BBC iPlayer or even a DVD unless you're in a silent room - and even they you'll need to strain your hearing.

When I contacted Fujitsu about the matter, their offhand and almost rude response to my questions came as a shock. When pressed about the sound the Support Agent kept repeating the words 'well, they're not meant for that kind of use'. Well, Mr Fujitsu, what kind of use ARE they intended for??

Sadly, this terrible experience has put me off Fujitsu laptops. In future, we'll be (recommending and) reverting to selling Toshiba's.
