Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 review
Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562

Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 has been on the market for quite some time and I we have to admit that though it never got the popularity of smartphones like the Galaxy S2 and S3 it is still considered a success.
This phone is mainly sold in Eastern Europe and Asia where dual-SIM card technology is used much more often than other parts of the world.
Basically Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 is a very capable smartphone with quite an affordable price.
Design and Looks
Samsung Galaxy S Duos is a very good looking smartphone. It has nice sleek design and is offered in three different modifications – white, La Fleur and black. Probably the white and black version don’t need any explanation where the La Fleur modification is basically white body with flower pattern which of course will better suit girls and women.
Samsung Galaxy S Duos measures 121.5 x 63.1 x 10.5 mm and weighs 120 grams. This phone is quite compact considering it hosts two SIM card slots.
Samsung Galaxy S Duos is made of good looking hard plastics which leave the impression for quality and long lasting product.

Display
Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 comes with good sized 4.0-inch (10.16cm) capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors. The screen is very bright and responsive but is definitely not the best in class when we are talking about sensitiveness (not that it is bad, it is just not the best). As for the size this display sits somewhere in the middles of modern smartphones – not to big but not too small, probably the perfect compromise of portability and functionality.
Hardware
Samsung Galaxy S Duos is equipped with pretty much average (for today’s standards) hardware but it works just fine for what it is made. The phone itself works smoothly with its 1 GHz single-core Cortex-A5 processor on Qualcomm MSM7227A Snapdragon chipset with Adreno 200 GPU and 768 MB of RAM. The space for storage in the S7562 is 4GB (1.8GB available for use) but you can add plenty more with additional microSD cards (up to 32GB) thanks to the built-in microSD card slot. This is a very nice feature, something typical for Samsung, you don’t have to rely only on cloud storage like many new cutting edge mobile devices.
Other nice hardware features include front-facing camera and 5MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and accelerometer, compass and proximity sensor.
Connectivity
Samsung Galaxy S Duos really shines in this category as this phone is fully equipped with connection options. Here we can find 3G connection, GPS receiver, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth and USB.
The S7562 is a quad-band phone with GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and HSDPA 900 / 2100 for both SIM1 and SIM2.

Battery
Samsung Galaxy S Duos has 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery with around 400 hours of stand-by time on 2G and 300 in 3G mode. The talk time in those two modes is 13 and 7 hours. Of course these figures are quite optimistic especially if using this phone with high brightness settings of the display and Internet connection.

Operating system
Samsung Galaxy S Duos comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS but it is easily upgradeable to the much improved Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (will post step-by-step upgrade info soon).

Price
Though the Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 can still be considered pretty new on the smartphone market (presented in the mid 2012) its price dropped significantly in the last few months. Now you can find this capable dual-SIM smartphone for around $230 (unlocked) which makes it one of the great phone deals these days.
