Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) has one bug disadvantage over the competition and that is the main 13MP camera
There are many discussions about the performance of the J7 and there are good and bad things. The comments left for its main camera (on the back of the phone) are pretty much always negative. And it is not because it “only” 13MP or bad color reproduction but rather something quite common for cheap and mid-range smartphones – stabilization and low light capability.
I really hate to admit it but I found the camera of the J7 (2017) really unusable in some occasions. Sometimes when I wanted to get a good shot but my hand wasn’t just as stable enough the images always came out blurry and out of focus. That became really annoying. It is exactly the same story with the Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) which has exactly the same camera on the back. The front-facing 13MP camera on the other hand is good enough for selfies and I can’t really complain with its performance, especially for a phone in this price range.
The fact that you should always take pictures with the J7 in super stable position really makes no sense as this is a smartphone camera and most people would always use it on the go, when holding it extremely tight and stable is mission impossible.
I don’t want to stress more about the J7’s camera performance and leave the impression that I really hate it (but I actually do) as a whole this one very good and capable smartphone, which has a great display, stable performance and solid battery. Just if you are looking for a good camera-phone please check elsewhere, there are plenty competitors that offer better camera performance.
Please let me know what you think about it in case you are a J7 or a J5 owner, I will be happy to hear your comments.
