Facebook officially confirmed that the android version of the Messenger app again will allow users to send and receive SMS messages directly from him, as some people have already started to work with this functionality. We remind you that it was previously available for the title, but the company decided to stop support for SMS-s about four years ago. The reason for this was that the number of users who use it was too little, but in recent months many have demanded from Facebook to return this functionality to Messenger, informed SlashGear.

That's how we will not have to constantly switch between screens and applications running on the smartphone to communicate fully, as will now be able to do it directly from Facebook Messenger. Each of us will be able to enter not only text, but also images, videos, Audio files, stickers and emoticons in your SMS messages as conversations with them will be colored in purple. In this way you can navigate more easily than blue color theme that distinguishes chats in Facebook Messenger, but the company said that this feature is optional and must be activated from the menu.

Once you open the app you need to click on "Settings" tab and select the section "SMS", where you must activate the option "Default SMS", to be able to send SMS-es on the application. For now, this feature is limited to Android OS like no matter what platform the machine the recipient to read the message. In conclusion, we note that the company will not retain any information about SMS-s you in their servers and so far we have no data when this function can be used on iOS.
