In last few years Audi is really standing out in the luxury segment and their flagship A8 is not only threatening the leaders in this class Mercedes S and BMW 7-series but is aiming at the very top of the luxury car sales.
Today we are going to review the third generation of Audi’s most luxurious sedan.
For 2011 Audi A8 offers top-of-the-line infotainment and driver assistance features. Engine choices include 4.2-litre Fuel Stratified Injection (FSI) petrol and Turbocharged Direct Injection (TDI) diesel V8s, with 273 kilowatts (371 PS) and 258 kilowatts (351 PS) respectively. A 3.0-litre V6 TDI with either 184 kilowatts (250 PS) or 150 kilowatts (204 PS) will be available later. A 6.3-litre W12 engine will be added in 2010. Most engines will be mated to the new eight-speed ZF 8HP automatic transmission.
In near future Audi A8 will have to face another big competitor from Lexus with their new generation LS but until then the only real competition to this amazing luxury sedan are BMW 7-series and the S-class from Mercedes.
