Samsung UN50F5500 50-inch Full HD Smart LED TV

Samsung UN50F5500 review - this is one of the most popular 50-inch Full HD LED TVs on the market today and that is why we decided it is worth taking a look at.

Samsung UN50F5500 is an entry level (for Samsung) 50-inch TV with Smart TV features. Its good picture quality and competitive price are the key selling points for the UN50F5500.

Looks
Honestly, I don't like the design of the Samsung UN50F5500 and the rest of the TVs from this model line (5500 series) just because of the fact that is way too shiny for my taste. I personally like clean and simple design and the Samsung UN50F5500 is just the opposite.
Shiny metal stand and flickering plastics distract the attention from what is the most important - all the content on the screen. Of course I can't say the UN50F5500 is ugly looking device, I just like Sony's approach to their entry level TVs.

Hardware and features
As I already mentioned Samsung UN50F5500 performs very well on Full HD 1080p picture and together with the Clear Motion Rate 120 this big screen turns into the perfect arena for high-speed action movies and sports.

Probably the biggest improvement over the previous generation Samsung Smart TVs is the fact that now they are using dual-core processing technology which makes everything work faster and smoother. That is quite obvious when using some of the Smart TV apps from the Smart Hub and when connecting to the Internet. Previous generation Smart TVs tend to work slow and unresponsive but that is all in the past thanks to the dual core technology.

For this 50-inch Full HD Smart LED TV Samsung also offers nice features like web browser, Smart Interaction 2.0, ConnectShare Movie, AllShare and S-Recommendation.

Connections
There are plenty of connection options that are available in the Samsung UN50F5500 like built-in WiFi, 2x USB ports, 3x HDMI ports, DVI, RF in component and composite.

Sound
Samsung UN50F5500 delivers good sound quality but nothing special. Technologies like Dolby Digital Plus / Dolby Pulse and DTS Premium Sound 5.1 are used for improving the overall sound quality.

Warranty
Samsung UN50F5500 comes with 1-year manufacturer warranty.

Price
For a 50-inch Full HD Smart LED TV the Samsung UN50F5500 is definitely not an expensive one. Its price of around $950-1000 is definitely a fair one and make this a very good purchase.
Of course you can take a look at some very good competitors in this segment like LG 50LA620S.

Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen 3 vs. Gen 2: The Key Upgrades Review
