Sony KDL-55W900A review - this 55-inch TV is probably the best we have reviewed so far. There is nothing ordinary in the Sony KDL-55W900A Internet TV and everything is on the highest possible level. Of course this exceptional quality comes at pretty high price but when we are talking about such high-end tech devices price is not that important.

Probably the most important technology in this amazing TV is the TRILUMINOS display technology. It makes colors look incredibly true and natural, unlike any other TV on the market today.

Sony KDL-55W900ACombine this with the X-Reality™ PRO picture engine, 240Hz refresh rate with Motionflow XR 960 technology and Dynamic Edge LED backlighting (with Local Dimming) and what you have is the best picture in class.

Sony KDL-55W900A is also a very sharp looking device thanks to its Quartz-cut design - slim panel with metal stand and very thin frame. The  KDL-55W900A is very elegant and will be a very nice design touch in any room.
Sony KDL-55W900A is not only a Full HD 1080p TV but also active 3D TV with 3D Sync Transmitter,  3D Super-resolution, 3D Format Support and Simulated 3D.

Sony KDL-55W900A is called Internet TV for a reason, actually plenty of reasons and here are just few of them:
  • Fast Zapping : Yes
  • Google TV Sync : YES(US/CA/MX)
  • Internet_Browser : Yes(Opera)
  • One-touch mirroring : Yes
  • Opera Apps (System) : Yes
  • Related Search : Yes
  • Screen mirroring : Yes
  • Seamless Streaming : Yes
  • Skype™ : Ready
  • Sony Entertainment Network : Yes
  • TV SideView™ : Yes
  • TV Tweet : Yes
  • Text search : Yes
  • Wi-Fi Certified : Yes
  • Wi-Fi Direct : Yes
  • Wireless LAN : Integrated
  • X2 Widget (System) : Yes

All these apps are supported thanks to the built-in fast WiFi. Of course DLNA connection is also supported.  Sony also used some clever interface for easily connecting your smartphone to the Sony KDL-55W900A and stream content on the big screen. You can also control different functions of the TV with your phone or tablet thanks to the TV SideView feature.

Here are the rest of the connection options which are available in the Sony KDL-55W900A:
  • USB 2.0 : 3x
  • AC Power Input : 1 (Rear)
  • Analog Audio Input(s) (Total) : 2 (Rear)
  • Audio Out : 1 (Side/Hybrid w/HP)
  • Component Video (Y/Pb/Pr) Input(s) : 1 (Rear/Hybrid)
  • Composite Video Input(s) : 2 (1Rear/1Rear Hybrid w/Component)
  • Digital Audio Output(s) : 1(Rear)
  • Ethernet Connection(s) : 1 (Vertical)
  • HDMI™ Connection(s) (Total) : 4
  • HDMI™ PC Input : Yes
  • Headphone Output(s) : 1 (Side/Hybrid w/Audio Out)
  • MHL : Yes
  • RF Connection Input(s) : 1 (Bottom)
  • RS-232C Input(s) : 1 (Side / Stereo Mini Jack)
The sound produced by the Sony KDL-55W900A is also on a very good level and that is thanks to the two 10W speakers with Sound Enhancer and Sound Booster. There is also S-Force Front Surround 3D sound mode which I am using quite rarely on my Sony Bravia TV (don't ask me why, it sounds a bit unnatural for me).

Of course Sony KDL-55W900A has plenty other useful features and new technologies but I decided to point out only the most important for this review.

Unfortunately the Sony KDL-55W900A has a pretty high price tag. You can find this 55-inch Internet TV for around $2300 (that's the cheapest I could find online) which is quite a lot of money for a TV. But what a TV that is...

Another great Sony LED TV with Triluminos display is the smaller and significantly cheaper ($1500) Sony Bravia KDL-42W805.

Sony Bravia KDL-42W650 is still not very popular around the world and the reason for that is not the lack of quality or functions which this TV is fully packed with but because of the fact that the  KDL-42W650/ KDL-42W650A is mostly going to be sold in Eastern Europe and some parts of Asia.
