Jabra Evolve 20 HSC016 headset tested

We test and review the Jabra Evolve 20 HSC016 headset after a week of use

Jabra Evolve 20 HSC016 headset

We had the Jabra Evolve 20 HSC016 headset for more than a week now and it is time to give it full product test.

The Evolve 20 is a premium headset mostly used for work like Teams or Zoom conference calls (yes, Skype as well). It is a stereo headset so it is also suitable for listening to music but I doubt that many consumers will use the Evolve 30 for that.

Main features of the Jabra Evolve 20 HSC016:

  • Noise-canceling microphone
  • Wideband audio for clear sound quality
  • In-line controls for volume, mute, and call answering/ending
  • Busy light indicator to show when you're on a call
  • Leatherette ear cushions for all-day comfort
  • USB connection with plug-and-play functionality
  • Compatible with all leading UC platforms
  • 2-year warranty

Jabra Evolve 20 HSC016 - sound quality

The Evolve 20 is not a cheap headset and therefore we expected good sound quality and mic. And this Jabra headset really delivers - sound quality is above average, loud enough with clear voices on remote calls.

We still haven't tested it with different genres of music, mostly for conference calls and some YouTube videos.

This headset is really good for work and that is why many companies that actively work with customer prefer them.

Jabra Evolve 20 HSC016 - comfort

Jabra Evolve 20 headset comfort

Comfort is the area where Jabra can improve some things in the Evolve 20. Not that the headset is uncomfortable but it definitely could be more adjustable and also some cushioning would be appreciated.

The soft earpads add to the comfort when using for longer periods. They are detachable and Jabra also sells them separately.

Nice feature is the functional remote which gives you different options for quickly adjusting the volume or taking a call.

Jabra Evolve 20 - alternatives

Previously we tested the Jabra Biz 1500 which also connected through USB interface. It is a good and cheaper alternative of the Evolve 20. And here is the short list with competitors that we have tested:
