Crown HDC-1012-T - one of the cheapest hair dryers

We are definitely not going to spend too much time on this review, we just wanted to share our first experience with one of the cheapest hair dryers on the market today - the compact Crown HDC-1012-T.

This specific model is mostly offered in Eastern Europe but we guess it is sold in other locations under different name. The reason to pay some special attention to this hair dryer is that its MSRP is around 12 Euro, which is really cheap.

Crown HDC-1012-T - product features and specs

Here are few of the basic specification of the device:
  • Warranty: 24 months
  • Power, W: 1250
  • Functions: 2 speed settings
  • Other features: Compact design, Concentrator, Hanging loop.

Even though it is a very cheap hair dryer it doesn't look too bad. Yes, the plastic feels cheap but the design and colors are matched pretty well.

First test and impressions

Crown HDC-1012-T product review

We only tested the Crown HDC-1012-T and... it works. Yes, the cheap hair dryer blows warm and hot air. It is not extremely loud but far from silent for sure.

To be honest, I am not really sure what else to share about this product except for few more photos and some of the competitors.

How to search and find your next cheap hair dryer - tips

Here are few useful suggestions in case you are about to search for a new cheap hair dryer:

  1. Look for sales and discounts at your local retailers, such as Walmart, Target, or drugstores like Walgreens or CVS.
  2. Check online retailers like Amazon or eBay for deals and promotions.
  3. Consider purchasing a refurbished or gently used hair dryer from online marketplaces like Amazon Renewed or eBay.
  4. Look for generic or store-brand hair dryers that may be less expensive than name-brand models.
  5. Check social media marketplaces like Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist for local deals on used or discounted hair dryers.

Benefits of buying cheap hair dryers

And here are just few of the benefits you get when purchasing a cheaper hair dryer instead of a more expensive one:

  • Affordability: One of the most obvious benefits of a cheap hair dryer is that it's more affordable than high-end models. If you're on a tight budget, a cheaper hair dryer may be your only option.
  • Convenience: If you travel frequently and need a hair dryer on the go, a cheap hair dryer can be a convenient option. They're lightweight and easy to pack, so you can take them with you wherever you go.
  • Basic features: Cheap hair dryers generally come with basic features, such as adjustable heat settings and a cold shot button. These features can still be useful in drying and styling your hair.

However, there are also some potential drawbacks to buying a cheap hair dryer. These include:

  • Quality: Cheap hair dryers may not be as durable or long-lasting as higher-end models. They may also have lower-quality materials that can wear down quickly, resulting in a shorter lifespan.
  • Heat damage: Some cheap hair dryers may not have effective temperature controls, which can result in overheating and damaging your hair. This can lead to frizz, split ends, and other hair problems.
  • Slower drying time: Cheap hair dryers may not have as much power as higher-end models, which can result in a longer drying time. This can be inconvenient if you're short on time or have thick, long hair that takes longer to dry.

It's important to keep in mind that when it comes to hair dryers, price is not always an indicator of quality or performance.

It's also important to consider factors like the wattage, heat settings, and attachments when choosing a hair dryer that works for you.
