HEAD Radical S tennis racket - product tour

Consumer product tour and review of the 2020 HEAD Graphene 360 Radical S

2020 HEAD Graphene 360 Radical S

We have the HEAD Radical S only for few weeks now but we already have some first-hand consumer feedback and impressions that we want to share with you.

In todays post we will provide the most important features and specifications of the HEAD Radical S racket as well as our opinion.

HEAD Radical S tennis racket - main product specifications

Weight unstrung9.9 oz / 280 g
TechnologyGraphène 360
CompositionGraphite
Head Size102.3 in² / 660 cm²
Length26.97 in / 68.5 cm
Stiffness61 RA
Balance unstrung12.6 in / 32 cm
Beam Width22-25-23 mm
String Pattern16x19

Probably the most noticeable thing in the product specs is the head size which is kind of unconventional - 102 inches. Considering the fact that this is somewhat lightweight racket at 280 grams this head size and weight will be perfect for recreational players who want easily maneuverable racket that swings super-easy.

HEAD Radical S review

With the HEAD Radical S tennis racket it is also quite easy to generate power and spin. The racket pockets the ball nicely and even though it has a very low stiffness rating of 61 RA the feeling from the ball is good and the racket does not feel shaky or unstable, pretty good for 280 gram racket.

During our playtest we could generate enough power from the baseline. The sweet-spot is big but somewhat inconsistent, especially if compared with the 98-inch Radical Pro (quite expected).

Radical S vs Instinct S

Our Radical S was strung with WILSON DUO POWER ROLAND GARROS which consists of  LUXILON ALU POWER and WILSON NXT POWER 1.25. I would say that is a pretty good setup for this racket strung somewhere around 24 kg.

HEAD Radical S - product price

Since our HEAD Radical S racket is not the latest model any longer we managed to get a very good price of under 100 Euro for the racket.

HEAD Radical S - our opinion
To be honest, we really liked the 2020 edition HEAD Graphene 360 Radical S. It is a good intermediate racket that swings easy with enough power for ground strokes. It is also pretty stable at the net, despite the low weight of just 280 grams.

If you are a beginner to intermediate tennis player we definitely recommend you to check the HEAD Graphene 360 Radical S.
