Philips QC5370/15 vs Philips Multigroom MG5720 - which trimmer is better?

Philips QC5370/15 vs Philips Multigroom MG5720 - comparing two very capable hair clippers/trimmers that I have used for years

Philips trimmers comparison

Philips QC5370/15 and Philips Multigroom MG5720 are two of the trimers that I have for years now... and yes, they are still working. Actually, the Multigroom MG5720 is used almost on daily basis while I keep the QC5370/15 as a backup and it hasn't been used for a while.

Philips QC5370/15 vs Philips Multigroom MG5720 - which is better

Well, to be honest I like them both but there are some key differences. For example the cutting area of the QC5370/15 is much bigger and therefore I would recommended as better option as a regular hair clipper.

Philips trimmer blades tested

It also came with much longer cable and it works while it is charging where the Multigroom MG5720 needs to be charged and unplugged before using (I have tried to use it on charger but in never worked, only on battery power).

Here are the rest of the key features of the Philips QC5370/15:

  • The advanced titanium blades of QC5370 hair clipper plus gives superior cutting performance and long-lasting sharpness
  • Zoom wheel with 21 lock-in lengths from 0.5 mm to 21 mm saves you hassle and clutter of storing or fitting separate combs for each length
  • Expert 2D comb gently follows the contours of your head for a fast, even and comfortable haircut, so you see professional results in no time
  • Philips QC5370 hair clipper plus is 100% waterproof hair clipper, simply pop the head open and rinse it under the tap.

And here is what the Multigroom MG5720 has to offer in its advantage:

  • Improved ergonomics - very easy to handle
  • Improved efficiency and battery life
  • Good build quality
  • Compact and comfortable to use
  • Average battery life
  • Good set of extra accessories
  • Not very noisy (definitely quieter than previous shavers we've tested)
  • Easy to clean / wash
  • Smoother and more gentle on the skin
For the needs that I currently have the Multigroom MG5720 seems to be the better choice for beard trimming, body trimming and partial haircuts.

For both of these Philips trimmers I would say that the build quality is on a very good level and definitely better than some other brands I have used in the past.

Are Philips trimmers and shavers any good?
