Buying the LG 43UR73 4k Smart TV - the reason we chose it

Our first consumer review of the 2023 model 43-inch 4k Smart LED TV LG 43UR73003LA and the reason we bought it

LG 43UR73 Smart TV

We will go with the answer of the main question straight away - our parents are using a small 32-inch Samsung LED TV for the last couple of years so we decided it is time for an upgrade. And after a short research we stopped our attention to 2 43-inch LED TVs, one from Hisense and one from LG, both of them being 2023 models. As you can guess, we bought the LG 43UR73003LA.

LG 43UR73 - main features and specs

The 43UR73003LA is a mid-range 4k Smart LED TV with α5 AI Processor 4K Gen6 which promises to deliver amazing picture quality and performance for a TV in this price range (around $350).

  • Brand: LG
  • Model: 43UR73003LA
  • Model Year: 2023
  • 4k: Yes
  • HDR: Yes, HDR10/HLG
  • 4k Upscaling: Yes
  • Smart TV: Yes
  • OS: webOS23
  • Wi-Fi: Yes
  • Bluetooth: Yes
  • Sound: 20W speakers
  • Magic remote ready
LG 43UR73 design and looks are pretty standard. I personally like one big central stand, rather than two small ones on the side but this feature LG keeps for their higher-end models.

Other than that I hope that this TV is quality made and will last for many years.

LG 43UR73 - consumer feedback

We scrubbed the net for user reviews for this TV and generally the feedback was positive. Some vloggers say that the webOS23 is a big improvement compared to previous versions but we will see about that shortly. Others complain from the standard remote control and strongly recommend the additional Magic remote which has built-in mic, which is quite useful for voice commends via Alexa and other apps.

Price

One of the main reasons why we chose the 43UR73003LA in specific was that we find it on sale at a very good price of just 255 Euro which is some 65 Euro under its listed MSRP.

Alternatives

Here are few suggestions in 43-inch segment, but all of them are older models compared to the LG 43UR73:
