We don't review many laptops these days and that is definitely something we need to change in the coming months. Today we will be taking a closer look at one cheap and quite basic 15.6-inch laptop - the Asus X543.

The version we focused our attention on is powered by an Intel Pentium processor and has only 4 GB of RAM.

As you can see the specifications of the reviewed Asus X543 laptop are quite "moderate" to say the least. For this consumer report we believe these specs are pretty much outdated and this machine would be a good fit for consumers with lower requirements.

Asus X543 laptop price

We checked prices for Asus X543 at multiple locations and stores. We were quite surprised with the asking price of some retailers.
The average we can confirm is about £300 which is cheap but still we believe you can get better equipped laptop for this amount.

Here are some alternatives to consider:
Asus X55V - cheap and reliable laptop with 15.6-inch HD display and Core i3 processor
ASUS ZenBook UX305 - smaller 13.3-inch display and the ultra-mobile processor Core M-5Y10
Dell Inspiron N5050 - that is an older model that you can buy cheap second-hand
