DJI Mavic Air 2 performance in cold and dark

Here is how the Mavic Air 2 performs in very cold weather in a dark winter evening

Mavic Air 2 cold weather

Today we are testing the night DJI Mavic Air 2 in harsh environment and see how this capable drone does in almost minus temperatures in late evening with only artificial lights around.

So, it is almost Christmas time and we decided to take the Air 2 for a ride but in somewhat unusual conditions. It was quite cold, the humidity levels were very high with light shower going on and it was also late in the evening... that is what you call harsh drone testing.

Probably the only thing that was missing from these harsh conditions was the wind which was pretty low and didn't affect the quality of the ride and footage.

Now, lets watch the video (unedited) and comment on the Mavic Air 2 performance in these winter conditions:

And probably now is the time to mention that once we got the Air 2 down it was covered in ice and water on the camera lens. It was so cold that some ice covered the wings which are not heated at all and entirely exposed to the outside temperatures.

The quality if the video is kind of poor but that is not only because of the smaller sensor of the camera but also because of the humidity and rain which covered the camera lens. Still, the footage is pretty much usable for personal use, not a chance for professional work though.
