LUMIX S Series 20-60mm F3.5-5.6 Mirrorless L Mount (S-R2060)
Today we are taking a closer look at one of the best kit lens that we have tested so far - the 20-60mm F3.5-5.6 Mirrorless L Mount (S-R2060) lens that we use on our Panasonic Lumix S5.

It has been only a month that we have spent with this camera and lens combo and we have to admit that we are truly impressed by the quality of this optics.

And even though it is not optically stabilized lens and not made of metal it has some other very positive qualities. Here are just some of them as stated by Panasonic:

L-MOUNT COMPATIBLITY - Designed for compatibility with LUMIX S-Series Full-Frame digital cameras
VERSATILE FOCAL LENGTH - Standard zoom lens covering ultra wide 20mm to standard 60mm in a compact, lightweight body, with compatibility for 67mm threaded filters
CLOSE UP CAPABILITY - Enables close-up shooting with minimum focusing distance of 5.9inch
VIDEO SUPPORT - Excels in video recording performance with smooth exposure changes and suppressed focus breathing
RUGGED DESIGN - Dust/splash/freeze-resistant design withstands heavy field use under harsh conditions

Versatile is probably the most adequate description for this lens. It is also quite sharp despite the fact that it starts at F3.5. Of course the big downside is that we don't have a constant F which for some may be a major issue but for us this is not a deal-breaker (at least for us).

With the shortest focal length this lens is quite versatile but it does not zoom internally so it gets quite long and ugly when zoomed to maximum 60mm.
