Honest review of the Philips In-Ear SHE 3850 earphones after 2+ years of regular use

Philips In-Ear SHE 3850 headphones review
Philips In-Ear SHE 3850 - cheap headphones
I was looking for in-ear headphones for a long time before I found the Philips In-Ear SHE 3850. I needed a pair of headphones that are budget friendly and comfortable to wear. They shouldn’t slip out and have to be durable enough to wear during sports. I didn’t have big expectations for sound quality, but needed enough volume from my in-ear headphones.

After some research I got a pair of the Philips In-Ear SHE 3850 headphones. I’ve been using them for more than 2 years now and I can share that they met most of my criteria.

Pros and cons of the Philips In-Ear SHE 3850 headphones

Pros:
  • Budget-friendly
  • Long cable - convenient to use outdoors
  • Convenient to use for a long time
  • Decent sound quality and volume

Cons:
  • Slips out of the ear easily
  • Tangle despite the anti-tangle slider

Consumer review

I’ve had the Philips In-Ear SHE 3850 earphones for more than 2 years and you can see some wear and tear from the pictures. I mostly use them while I’m running in the park, so they were used in harsher conditions as opposed to desk / office use.

Philips In-Ear SHE 3850 worn out

What I like best about these headphones is that they are comfortable. My old headphones made my earlobes hurt after 10-15 minutes but not the Philips In-Ear SHE 3850. Unfortunately, they slip out of my ear frequently while I run so I have to adjust them every 5-10 mins or so.

The cable of these headphones is 1.2 m long - very convenient for outdoor use, not too long or short. The cable has an anti-tangle slider, but in my opinion it doesn’t work very well - the headphones still get tangled.

The sound quality could be improved however for this price you can’t expect too much. The sound is decent and the volume is good. There are no overly high tones to irritate you and they do moderately well with low / bass tones. They perform surprisingly well in noise cancellation. When you put them on and play your music, the outside sounds are completely drawn out.
