Dell Latitude 5411 laptop

We have just received the Dell Latitude 5411 and we wanted to share our impressions with this laptop. Today we will discuss its main hardware specifications, looks and of course share some pricing in different locations.

Latitude 5411 review

Dell Latitude 5411 - design and looks

The 14-inch Latitude 5411 is a business oriented laptop and it sure looks like it. It has a very simple and elegant design, colored entirely in silver. The top part is made of durable plastic, while the bottom we believe is made of aluminum for better heat distribution. Dell Latitude 5411 looks durable and well made.

Dell Latitude 5411 - our configuration

The Latitude 5411 configuration that we received was pumped-up quite a bit. The hardware that we ordered is just top of the line for the 2020 Latitude model line and there are just few options that we didn't include. Here are the specs:
  • Processor - 10th generation Intel Core i7-10850H. That is a very powerful processor with 6 cores and 12MB Smart cache. Its base frequency is 2.7GHz with Turbo mode of up to 5.1GHz. Its thermal design power is 45W. The i7-10850H also hosts Intel's vPro technology.
  • RAM - 16GB of RAM (2x 8GB at 3200MHz)
  • Storage - 512GB Samsung NVMe M.2 SSD
  • Display - 14" FHD WVA (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare with Embedded Touch, IR Cam & Mic
  • Video -  Intel® UHD Graphics for 10th Gen Intel® Processors
  • Battery - 4 Cell 68Whr Long Life Battery
  • Connection - Intel Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 AX201 2x2 802.11ax 160MHz + Bluetooth 5.1
As you can see it is a pretty good configuration for a small business laptop (quite expensive as well).

Intel Core i7 10th Gen vPro

Dell did a very good thing making their 2020 Latitude series highly configurable - for example you can get the very same laptop with 4GB or RAM, i5 processor, smaller SSD or HDD and it would be way cheaper.

Until now we were using the Precision 3520 which is a very good mobile work station and will remain our photo/video editing machine on the go.

Dell Latitude 5411 - product price

Our configuration came with a price tag of a bit under $2000. Yes, that is quite a lot but considering the fact that this is latest generation laptop with the latest and one of the fastest mobile processors on the market... it looks like a fair price.
Also, as we already mentioned, you can configure the Latitude 5411 with such parts that it will cost you under $1000.

Well, these are our first impressions with the Dell Latitude 5411. So far it leaves mostly positive impressions but the important thing would be performance.
Next steps: we will spend some time testing the laptop and then we will share more info about its performance, battery life, comfort of use and more.

Meanwhile, please share with us what laptop are you currently using and its pros and cons. Thank you!
