mute and volume buttons
Mute and volume buttons

The mute and volume buttons are easy to adjust and feel durable. The are located on the bottom of the left speaker.

headphone microphone
Soft-cable mic for easy adjusting

Cable length of 1.3 meters might not be a lot but would be more than enough for general use. Nice touch from Razer - they included adapter for using the headphones and mic on separate ports as many PCs don't have combo 3.5 mm jack.

Razer Kraken X - 2020 consumer video review

As we explained in the video review, performance is not exceptional but pretty much decent. Kraken X is a very comfortable headset which delivers nice and clear sound. We would prefer more powerful lows and bass, mids and highs are OK. The sound is very balanced but while listening to some HQ music we felt that this is a budget oriented headset.

Razer headphones

If we compare the Kraken X to the corded version Razer Adaro we could definitely tell the difference where the Adaro has the advantage. In this comparison the sound coming from the Kraken X felt much "cheaper" and honestly not that satisfying. We still need to consider that the Adaro were more expensive.

The truth is that for a budget gaming headset the Kraken X is almost perfect but lacks performance in case you want exceptional results while listening music.

Razer Kraken X - product price

The official MSRP of just $50 justifies some of the cons mentioned above. For UK customers the price would be something around £40.

Razer Kraken X - our opinion
If you want to keep a low budget and you find these for under $50 just go ahead and buy them. If you need high-end headphones for music listening or something with long cord, look elsewhere. Here are some alternatives:
Please share with us your opinion about the Razer Kraken X, we will be happy to hear from you!
