Samsung Galaxy Note 9 - still a powerful smartphone

Consumer feedback about the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in 2021

2021 Samsung Galaxy Note 9 feedback

Earlier this year we wrote about one of the tools we use in our day-to-day work - the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Back in the days in 2018 when it was first released that was one of the most powerful phones on the market and of course on of the most expensive.

I am really surprised to say that the Note 9 is still an amazing machine in 2021 and today I will share my feedback and tell you why it is still such a good smartphone.

Display

The Super AMOLED quad-HD display is really awesome. With HDR10, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and the amazing 516 ppi density it is one of the more vibrant and colorful displays even by 2021 standards. And it is not just good specs on paper - I have compared this curved screen with numerous competitors and to be honest I like it better even than the newer Note models.

Feel and build quality

This phone feels really solid in the hand. For some the 200 grams weight might be a bit too much but I never considered this to be an issue. The Note 9 is very well made and durable and I hope ours is going to last years to come.

Battery

Considering the fact that the Note 9 has a huge display and very powerful hardware the battery life is more than acceptable. Usually we don't have any issues using it actively for a full day without recharging. It has fast and wireless charging as well (please consider this phone is almost 3 years old).

Sound

The 2x stereo speakers sound very loud and clear and watching YouTube content on this smartphone is a real joy, even without a pair of earphones.

Firmware

Good job Samsung for providing constant updates for your ex-flagship. Currently the Note 9 is upgradable to Android version 10 and One UI version 2.5.

These are just some of the advantages of having the Note 9 in 2021, there is a lot more to share but I believe this is kind of the essential. The dual front and rear cameras are also pretty good by today's standards as well.

I would be happy to hear your opinion about this smartphone in case you have it or used to have it - what is your experience with it and would you consider using it in 2022?
