I bought another Philips Multigroom series 5000 trimmer - here is why

My long lasting experience with Philips trimmers continues - another Multigroom MG5720 (Series 5000) is the newest addition

Philips Multigroom Series 5000

It really hasn't been that long since I last bought a brand new Philips trimer and unfortunately I had to spend more money on new one this week. I bought another Multigroom MG5720 Series 5000 trimmer since all the others stopped working (except for the cheapest corded one).

Why I needed to buy another trimmer?

Previously, in series of articles I shared with you my negative experience with some of my Philips trimmers. First it was the Multigroom series 5000 MG5720 which says on the box that it has 4 years warranty but it lasted less than 3 years of active use and then it was the MG3710 which lasted less than a year.

To be honest I am quite disappointed since I have always liked and preferred Philips trimmers but now it is quite sure that there is some reliability issues with the items that I bought.

Probably, many of you would ask why I am still buying another Philips trimmer since I had so many issues and that would be quite a reasonable question. The reason behind is that I got used to them, since I have been using them for many years now and honestly I never thought of switching to another brand.

Philips MG5720

This MG5720 that I received today is probably going to be my last try to stay with Philips trimmers for personal use. If it lasts at least couple of years than I would consider everything fine and remain with the brand, even though they say the guarantee is 4 years for this particular model.

Philips trimmers - the ultimate comparison

I really find the dual-cut technology in this and other Philips trimmers pretty good, something that provides comfort of use for longer periods of time.

I don't know what is the problem of the other trimmers that failed but my assumption is something related to faulty batteries.
I will keep you updated on what is going on with my Philips trimmers, hopefully the one that I received today will keep up good pace for couple of years.

As many of you know, I spent a good amount of time with the Gen 2, and while it was a solid business machine, there were definitely a few things that needed attention. The E16 Gen 3 I’m reviewing here is equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 5 processor, shared Intel graphics, and 32GB of RAM.
