Since we needed a budget video card for one of our work machines, we decided that the ASUS Dual Radeon RX 5500 XT EVO is a good entry-choice and bought it. 

Of course to reach to the buying part we went trough some thorough research and checked hundreds of benchmarks and tests. We believe the Radeon RX 5500 XT EVO is good for couple of reasons:

  • Budget-friendly - you can find it brand new for under $200
  • 8 GB of RAM - future-proof video card with plenty VRAM
  • PCIE 4 version - running this card on PCIE 4 enabled motherboard ensures high-speed transfer rates with the latest PCIE 4 version
  • Semiconductor size - small 7nm semiconductor size for better performance
  • Good stock clock and overclock speeds for GPU and memory 
  • GDDR 6 - higher transfer rate and improved performance compared to older versions
  • OpenCL 2

Even though the RX 5500 XT is not the latest model we believe it still has its place in gaming and video editing configurations in 2020. 

We will give it some time testing before we confirm its overall performance and compare it to some of its main rivals like the GTX 1650 Super, GTX 1660 Super and GTX 1660 Ti.
