TEFAL Uno M - real world consumer test

The first meals cooked with our new deep fryer - the TEFAL Uno M FF1231 tested for the first time

TEFAL Uno M before its first mission : )

As I shared with you last week we decided to get a deep fryer after giving it a long thought on the topic we stopped our attention on the budget TEFAL Uno M. It is a very simple and easy to operate fryer that costed us less than $60 (a pretty good deal I think). This product is also known as Tefal Uno M FF123130 and is one of the best selling deep fryers in Europe.

Main advantages of the TEFAL Uno M fryer:
  • Cheap
  • Good looking
  • Good build quality - made to last
  • Premium brand - Tefal
  • Cooks up to 1 kg of food

Why I ordered the TEFAL Uno M for our new deep fryer?

First meal prepared with the TEFAL Uno M
Probably you are wondering what is the very first thing I decided to cook in the Uno M. Actually, it was couple of things - first I tried with some zucchini which turned out pretty good and then I we made some french fries, a must for each deep fryer. Both were pretty delicious and I have no major complaints with the Tefal Uno M.

One thing that struck me by surprise was the fact that this fryer needs a minimum of 2 liters of oil in order to get it started (there is a "min-max" scale on the inside). To be honest we didn't have that much at home so we needed to visit the grocery shop to get some more.

As I was cooking vegetables both meals were prepared with open top in order to get avoid keeping all the moisture with the fryer and not get the crispy veggies and french fries we all like.

Controls
It is fairly simple to use the TEFAL Uno M fryer. There is an ON/OFF switch and a mode selector (temperature scale). All you need to do to get it going is turn the ON button and select the preferred temperature, wait 5 minutes to have the oil heated up and then put the contents for frying.

Usually it takes between 5 and 10 minutes to have a well made fries. You can cook up to 1 kg of food at once.

How to clean your TEFAL Uno M fryer

Unfortunately the Uno M FF123130 doesn't come with any filtration system like the Tefal Filtra One FF175D71 or any kind of drain. In order to clean it you will need to remove the oil manually and then carefully wipe the inside of the fryer. I personally wouldn't recommend putting  your deep fryers in the sink unless the instructions say so.

Other thoughts
The exact price we got our TEFAL Uno M FF123130 was $48. It was discounted and I also used a coupon code and I truly believe this would be some of the best fryers for under $50 out there. The regular price should be around $65-80 which is also pretty decent for a quality made Tefal kitchen appliance.

Please let me know what you think of the TEFAL Uno M fryer, I would be more than happy to hear your recommendations and opinion. Thank you!

Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen 3 First Look Review: Did They Fix the Flaws?

Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen 3: Flaw Fixed, Efficiency Gained Hey everyone, and welcome back! I was excited to finally get my hands on the third generation of the Lenovo ThinkPad E16 . As many of you know, I spent a good amount of time with the Gen 2, and while it was a solid business machine, there were definitely a few things that needed attention. This is my very first look at the Gen 3, and I wanted to share my initial feedback on what’s improved and what hasn’t. The E16 Gen 3 I’m reviewing here is equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 5 processor, shared Intel graphics, and 32GB of RAM.
